The following are Frequently Asked Questions, please contact us if you have additional ones:
- Yes. Our dry sensors are active: there are amplifiers right behind the electrode tips.
- The system accepts triggers TTL style pulses or parallel or serial outputs from your PC. The voltage output should be: between 3 and 12 V. The DSI-24 supports 8-bit trigger inputs, and the DSI-7 and DSI-Mini accept 4-bit trigger inputs. Please ask us about our Wireless Trigger Hub and its functionality (photodetector, audio detector, push-button triggers, etc.)
-
Yes. The system accepts triggers that can be used to synchronize stimuli with recorded EEG data. Please see our Interfaces page for more information on currently supported software and ask us about your specific interfacing needs.
-
Yes. The system accepts triggers that can be used to synchronize data between different hardware systems. Our system is pretty robust to electronic interference and should not cause interference with other systems. Please ask us about our the Wireless Trigger Hub and its functionality that can support interfacing with other hardware. Please contact us to discuss your specific application and which hardware you are trying to interface with.
-
DSI-Streamer, the data acquisition software, outputs both raw and filtered data.
-
DSI-Streamer, the data acquisition software, exports data into Comma-Separated-Value (CSV) or European Data Format (EDF) files.
-
Yes, both the .csv and .edf file formats should be readily importable to other 3rd party software. Real-time streaming can also be established with other software via the TCP/IP socket. Please see our Interfaces page for more information on currently supported software and ask us about your specific interfacing needs.
-
Yes. DSI-Streamer, the data acquisition software, has a built-in TCP/IP socket that streams raw or filtered data in real-time, with approximately <100ms delay.
-
Yes, we do have a C-based API that can be used to communicate with the hardware directly.
-
The DSI-24 has 2 hot-swappable batteries, meaning that the headset will keep working without interruption if one battery is taken out and replaced. The DSI-7 and DSI-Mini have 1 battery that lasts over 12 hours in continuous use. Batteries can be re-charged with the provided charger in a few hours.

The systems are cleaned with their supplied brushes and 70% isopropanol. Please see our tutorial videos.
